3 Bed Family House Free Parking

Lovely house and excellent location but a few disappointing points of cleanliness and communication. Positive: Lovely spacious house. Lots of storage downstairs, in the kitchen and the dining room. Bedrooms are a good size. The bathroom is also spacious with shelves and room for toiletries and a good shower. Fans were provided for upstairs, which was very helpful given the weather at the moment. Great to have the lean-to at the back with utilities and space for shoes and jackets. Lovely little garden, lots of sunshine and a picnic bench and parasol to sit out at. The location is excellent for access to local attractions/activities, train station, shopping in the town, the beach and the pier. All within very easy walking distance. There is parking at the back with easy access to the property through the garden. Negative: The bins at the front were overflowing, with a strong smell and flies all around. We had to sort the bins out, moving other people's smelly rubbish, to be able to open the living room windows, which was much needed in the current heat! The fridge and freezer were dirty and there were dirty glasses in the cupboard and dirty items in the dishwasher. There were stale old bread buns and what appeared to be cereal packets left open in a kitchen cupboard. The bedrooms were a really good size but didn't have enough hanging space, with only one full length wardrobe in the second bedroom, despite there being room for more. Neighbours are quite noisy and there is a building site opposite, so we were woken up early every morning. Communication from the host wasn't good. I sent several messages that were not answered, eventually getting the information requested the day before we were due to arrive, by which time I was worried that something was wrong with our booking and we may not even have a holiday! It all worked out in the end.

The host was extremely helpful, the house was clean, smelt like and perfect for a family to stay in. Positive: It was a home away from home - very inviting everything there required for a stay whether it be a long stay or short stay. Negative: The steepness of the stairs was my only concern.

Central, clean and quiet space to get away from the hustle and bustle of London! Positive: I had artists stay here as part of an artist residency in Southend and they loved it! They said the apartment was perfect for their two families with a young child each. It’s very central to Southend but also quiet. Nice and clean and great facilities.
