Luxury Heritage Cottage- The Heart of Old Leigh

Negative: We didn't get to stay in the property due to a leak, We was offered an alternative property which we accepted but then the booking was cancelled entirely Friday afternoon a couple of hours before we were due to arrive. Host is terrible with communication

Lovely location but very poor value for money Positive: The location was excellent right on the pretty old high st and it was a very pretty cottage with nice views from terrace Negative: One shower was out of action due to leak which had caused black mould on downstairs ceiling. Host did not respond after asking me about bed configuration before the stay and so no bedding or towels for one guest. Photos clearly show loft room with futon sofa bed but there was only a rolled up futon on floor and no bedding. The code was wrong and I phoned host and we had to try three numbers before it was open. I reminded her about bedding and she said she’d bring but she forgot. She also said she never gets notifications from booking.com if there is a message and clearly she does not check it often. I texted her with all these issues to give her chance to reply but 24 hours later no response. Plus the sofa was old and broken down and really needs replacing. I would advise guests to bring own tea and coffee as what was provided was undrinkable. Also parking is scarce and expensive so come by train if you can

Terrible Positive: The location is good. Good activities for visitors. Good mix of restaurants The people in the area are and welcoming Great environment Negative: We could not make breakfast until two to three days after we checked because we could not get the cooker to work, reached out to the host, did not reply our calls. We have to call her back . We felt we should not have to this, she should have reached out to us and check on the situation. We were the ones chasing after her. It was hot and no fan on the property, Spoke to Becky, did not reach out to us until we called her back. It is very hot at night. We could not open the window because there is no net to keep the insects out especially at night

Positive: Very close to the sea and restaurants Negative: There was nothing to dislike

Very cute cottage in a fantastic location. Positive: Great location and suprisingly spacious. Nice terrace overlooking the water and a comfy bed. Becky was lovely and check-in was smooth. Negative: Sofa was a little uncomfortable and would have been nice to have some dishwasher tablets etc on arrival.
